Sante International Wine and Spirits Competition
2021 Sante’ International Wine Competition: Double Gold & Best of Class 95pts
93 Connoisseurs Guide to Wine
Full and rich with a light veneer of peppery spice overlying its ample blackberry and ripe, cherry-like fruit, but not a wine given to too much blustery ripeness and one that stays keenly focused throughout its impressive length, the Ragtag Syrah is a supple, yet lively, very well-made look at the variety that, despite being nothing short of wholly delicious at the moment, is structured to age effortlessly. Its manifold present appeals may be hard to resist, but even better awaits some five or six years down the line for those with the patience to lay it away.

Inky ruby. Cherry and dark berry preserve, vanilla, roasted coffee and cola scents are sharpened by cracked pepper and floral nuances. Broad, fleshy and weighty on the palate, offering black and blue fruit, spicecake and mocha flavors and a touch of olive paste. The vanilla and cherry notes recur on a long, smoky finish framed by rounded tannins. Raised in a combination of one-third new and two-thirds used French and American oak barrels.
"Boysenberries, dark chocolate cordial cherries. Deep, dark fruits, vanilla, oak. Velvety and smooth, full bodied, a hint of spice on the finish." winery
