"
Incorporating 8% Grenache Blanc and from the Rocks region of Walla Walla, the 2014 The Unnamed Syrah offers a unique profile with pretty notes of white peach (from the Grenache Blanc no doubt), dried violets, plums and bouquet garni. Medium to full-bodied, supple, layered and beautifully balanced, it should shine right out of the gate, yet also evolve gracefully.
Like a lot of 2013s, I found that these latest bottled wines from Reynvaan were slightly more impressive from barrel than bottle, and I was left craving a touch more flesh and texture. Nevertheless, these are beautiful, elegant wines that have tons of character. The whites have also shifted in style from the previous richer, more textured releases to highlighting more freshness and acidity."
