James Halliday - Australian Wine Companion
Perfumed steamroller. Hand-picked from the Warner Vineyard in the Beechworth region. Polished, confident, complex wine. Powerful fruit in the blueberry and blackberry spectrum, cedary-spicy oak, perfumed stemmy notes/cooling herbs and muscular tannin. Smooth-talking and pretty but robust. Commands the glass.
94 Josh Raynolds - Vinous Media
Glass-staining purple. Heady aromas of candied blackcurrant, blueberry and cola are complicated by hints of licorice, violet and allspice. Lush, intensely flavored and focused, offering deep dark berry and cherry compote flavors and an exotic floral touch. Finishes smooth and very long, with resonating spiciness, a hint of licorice and subtle tannins.
94 Wine Spectator
A vibrant, open-textured style, offering mineral and black olive accents to the dark berry flavors with hints of black pepper. Remains expressive on the evocative, harmonious finish. Shows impressive depth and distinctiveness. Drink now through 2025. 300 cases made. –HS
