Jeb Dunnuck - Robert Parker's Wine Advocate
"The 2010 Côtes Catalanes Boreal was firing on all cylinders. Made from 100% Syrah planted all in granite soils, it spent 18 months in 30% new French oak before being bottled unfined and unfiltered. Offering an Hermitage like profile of crushed rock, leather, violets, wild herbs and blackberry fruit, it’s full-bodied, has beautiful density and depth, and big tannin that come out to play on the finish. If anyone doubts the quality and age worthiness of the Syrah coming from these higher elevation, granite soils in the Roussillon, they need to taste this wine. It will have 15-20 years of longevity."
