"Three-hectare vineyard block situated on rolling hills between Carbonnieux and Smith-Haut-Lafitte in Martillac. Density is 7,000 vines/ha and the varietal mix includes equal parts of Semillon and Sauvignon Blanc whose average age is 17 years. The soil is superficially gravelly atop a rich mix of clay and limestone. Mechanically tilled, cover-cropped every other row, debudded, desuckered, deleafed, crop-thinned, and hand-harvested between Sept. 13th and 21st. Barrel-fermented in 100% new Berthomieu and Rémond French oak barrels then aged for six months on the wine's post-malo lees. Blend is 80% Sauvignon Blanc and 20% Semillon.
