"Now a blend of equal parts Sangiovese, Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon, the 2015 Al Passo is a bold, beautiful and fully ripe red wine that is both exuberant and immediate. Those rich fruit flavors burst from the glass in this sunny vintage, and you are treated to a seamless sequence of black cherry, blackberry and spice aromas. Subtle notes of tar and crushed stone create a delicate frame around that luscious fruit. This is a mid-weight wine to drink straight out of the gate. Some 91,000 bottles were made."

"A decadent nose with plum compote, vanilla, mocha and dark chocolate. Full body, ripe yet structured tannins and a grainy finish. Drink in 2021."

"A gorgeous expression of black cherry, plum and spice notes, balanced by bright acidity and firm, integrated tannins. Not for the long term, yet this should develop nicely over the next decade. Sangiovese, Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon. Best from 2020 through 2030. 7,583 cases made, 6,000 cases imported. — BS"
"Al Passo is a small circular forest with an interior passage ("al passo") at the highest point of the Tolaini vineyard with a breathtaking view of the towers of Siena, the town of Montalcino and Montepulciano to the east. It was in Al Passo that we discovered and restored an Etruscan tomb and ruins.
This wine shows a true sense of place. Spicy notes of oak rise above distinct aromas of cherry and berry. The palate has a backbone of Sangiovese, a roundness of Merlot and enhanced body from the Cabernet Sauvignon. The fruit purity and varietal signatures are testament to the meticulous care given to the vines. Note: Some sediment may occur in the bottom of the bottle as the wine is not filtered." - Winery
