This is another Vino Nobile that shows a ton of ripe blackberries, though not excessive, and there’s some really nice, brambly and citrus nuances, too. The palate is intense but shows a firm, tannin backbone framed by some pretty acidity. Drink in 2020.

The 2015 Poggio Stella Vino Nobile di Montepulciano opens to wonderful aromatics of red berries, florals, spices and leather which are underlined with hints of licorice adding further complexity. On the palate this is medium-bodied and structured with soft and well-extracted tannins. It remains nicely balanced throughout the progression and displays notable length on the finish that gives immediate pleasure.
