"Cherry and dried-strawberry aromas with hints of lavender and fruit tea. Full body, firm and polished tannins with a lovely, fine texture. This is a tight and pretty red with length and focus. Needs two or three years to come completely together, but already so beautiful. Drink after 2021."

"Of these various new releases from Il Poggiolo Rodolfo Cosimi, the 2015 Brunello di Montalcino Il Poggiolo shows the best overall balance and harmony in terms of its aromas. There is an evident tug of war between sweetness and sourness in the mouth, but the nose is treated to a classic Sangiovese presentation of red fruit, sour cherry, cassis and bitter almond. Indeed, there is an extra point of sourness on the close. Serve it with a platter of pecorino."
