"The 2012 Brunello di Montalcino Riserva offers plumpness and softness that you don't find as easily in the more acidic (and nervous) 2013 vintage. This vintage saw a warm and dry summer season, and those conditions tend to add more weight and textural heaviness to Sangiovese. This Riserva opens to a dark color and medium-rich concentration. The bouquet is fleshed out with red and purple fruit tones of cherry, plum and blackberry. The finish shows ample power and density."
