"Christian Schäfer was born in the historic wine-producing town of Bernkastel-Kues, and developed a passion for wine while growing up in the heart of the Mosel Valley in Germany. Having great memories of cultivating the famously steep vineyards and crafting the wine with his parents and grandparents, and having spent more than thirty years absorbing all the details of the wine making process in and around Bernkastel-Kues, he founded Schäfer-Reichart Selections.

Estate vineyards in Germany pride themselves on producing high quality Rieslings, each with its own distinctive personality. This labor-intensive process lends itself to extremely limited production.

In addition to the many wines and wineries he represents, he has created “Nein Lives Riesling” — a fresh & lively wine made from healthy Riesling grapes that are physiologically ripe but still relatively low in sugar.

The name & various label designs are given in honor of and admiration for the little cat who lives at the winery, who was once hit by the vineyard truck, surviving the episode without a scratch." - Importer
