Super-ripe pear, but also nectarine and mandarin notes give this bone-dry medium-bodied riesling enormous appeal. However, the fireworks come at the finish which is brimming with spice and mineral notes. This would go with anything from a burger to a roasted Bresse chicken with truffles! Drink now or hold. Screw cap.

Located adjacent to the Laubenheimer Karthäuser on weathered volcanic rocks and iron-rich clay, the 2016 Nahe Riesling St Remigiusberg Trocken offers a fascinatingly pure and stony/smoky bouquet of great elegance, finesse and complexity. Round and fruity on the palate, the 2016 seems sweeter than previous years, which seems to lend the wine a less dramatic or exciting character on the palate. However, it is finely racy and perfect to drink today, although it can age for at least a decade. The finish is very delicate: juicy-fruity, salty-piquant, mineral and very elegant. A very promising wine. And yes, there is tension too!

St. Remigiusberg is one of the smallest individual locations in the Nahe region and is located right next to the Karthäuser. Weathered volcanic rock and iron-ore-infused clay characterize the vineyard soil. In the sum of the circumstances, the lowest yields with the highest extract arise regularly. A luscious fruit that is more and more reminiscent of mandarins as it ripens. A dense, elegant structure makes the Riesling wines unmistakably silky and yet exciting. Historically, St. Remigiusberg leads us to the Benedictine monks who were active in Laubenheim at the time and commemorates their prince of Reims, who was canonized after his death.
