The 2014 Weisser Riesling Noble Late Harvest has around 137 grams per liter of residual sugar this vintage. It has quite a petrol-like bouquet, perhaps not quite as focused as previous vintages that I have encountered. The palate shows more refinement than the aromatics, notes of kumquat and tangerine, with good depth and acidity towards the desiccated orange peel-infused, viscous finish. Enjoy this over the next 3-5 years. Note that there will be no 2015 of this wine.
Tasting notes A very expressive nose, with apricot and pineapple aromas dominating. Soft cardamom pod fragrances and orange blossom are noticeable too. All these characteristics follow through onto the luscious, creamy palate which finishes clean. Food pairing Great with desserts, but also great as a dessert on its own. Works well with cheese and is excellent with foie gras.
