Ian Dorin - Wine Library
"The 2013 vintage produced extremely exciting wines, but very low yields has left production quite low, and value tough to find. Look no further than this remarkable, slightly off-dry effort. The pinch of sugar disappears under the endless acidity that helps maintain the bright, fresh profile of this great value. Ripe pear and apple notes mix with baking spices and ginger notes, and the wine continues to evolve to notes of vanilla and sugar cookies. A total crowd pleaser, this is an amazing effort from a fantastic producer."
Product Description:
"They label this plain old 'Riesling' - which is sort of insane as this is just a spectacular bottle of wine. It is pure, pristine, filigreed, perfectly - and we mean perfectly - balanced. The nose is a Mosel perfume of slate, spiced pear and apple edged by fine slivers of citrus and stone fruit, a delicate saltiness that percolates up through its mineral core. The palate is ultra-fresh, all satin and lace, perfect clarity and purity, sweet fruit that is pulled into shape by citrus. This is one of those magical wines, a wine that makes being great seem like the most natural, easiest thing in the world. As the professionals say: Tasted multiple times, consistent notes. This is a wine you can just suck down, bottle after bottle, or you can put it on the table and bring out your books and write poetry." -Importer
