"Concentrated and viscous, displaying apricot, mango and papaya flavors tinged with lime and slate. There's a lot of flesh, and it will take time for the submerged nuances to emerge, but this has balance and lingers beautifully on the finish. Drink now through 2040. 30 cases made."

Product Description:

About the Vineyard:
This world renowned winegrowing site is situated across from Trittenheim on the right bank of the Moselle River. The vineyard is perched on an extremely steep slope with grey-blue slate soil. The rocky terrain absorbs and stores the sun’s heat during the day and releases it slowly to the vines during the night. The very mild climate in these steep, southwest-facing vineyards grants the late-maturing Riesling sufficient time to collect minerals, natural glucose and extracts in its grapes. The peachy aroma is typical of these very subtle and filigreed wines and their vibrant elegance. A note about the famous name of this site: its name has nothing to do with the positive effect of wine on health. It most probably originated from its name "Abtsberg", a donation by the Trier Abbey.
