Entirely Pinot Noir and made from grapes purchased from Emilien Feneuil, the 2019 Champagne Les Longues Voyes Extra Brut saw an extra year of aging, spending 19 months in barrels without racking. It takes on a more layered profile, with savory tones as well as notes of red cherry, bergamot, tea leaf, a delicate smoky touch, and a salty, fresh finish. It opens on the palate to a medium-bodied wine with wonderful intensity throughout that’s very well-balanced. The mousse is just there to give it an accent of peppery spice, and it has a long, lovely finish, with its fruit never falling off. Drink 2024-2044. Disgorged November 2022. 2 grams per liter dosage.
"The grapes were harvested at perfect maturity, pressed, then vinified in oak barrels with an aging period of 18 months. Malolactic fermentation is blocked to promote the expression of the terroir. After disgorging, the wine is dosed Extra-Brut at 2 g/L to preserve this great freshness. The nose reveals notes of black fruits, and the palate is lively, tense, fine, tasty and tonic. The wine is of great purity with a very persistent saline finish."- Winery
