Richer purple black and a sweet ripe fruit here, but it smells in good balance. Much lusher fruit, certainly at least optimum ripeness, but it works very well. Generous fruit behind and good length. The fruit covers the tannins very nicely. Tasted: December 2021

The 2020 Chambolle-Musigny Les Chatelots 1er Cru is fragrant on the nose with brambly red fruit, briary, hints of lavender coming through with time. The palate is well-balanced with finely-integrated oak, fleshy and generous with a dash of white pepper towards the finish. Very good length, this should offer drinkers 15-20 years of drinking pleasure.
