"The 2016 Morey Saint Denis "Trilogie" comes from three parcels that conjoin premier crus and was cropped at 25 hectoliters per hectare from Chenevery, Clos Solon and Les Porroux. Blended with one-third whole bunch fruit, it offers intense blackberry, briary and light tobacco scents that blossom in the glass. The palate is medium-bodied with fine tannin, pure and sorbet-fresh black fruit, a gentle grip in the mouth with superb tension on the crystalline finish. Superb, an outstanding Morey-Saint-Denis for its class."

"(from millerandé vines in Les Chenevery, Clos Solon and Les Porroux, all between 60 and 80 years of age and all just below premier crus; 33% vendange entier): Bright medium red. Deeper and more reticent on the nose than the Très Girard, offering dark cherry and underbrush notes. Then richer and saltier in the mouth, with its dark fruit flavors complicated by brown spices and saline minerality. Classically dry, solidly built village wine with noteworthy intensity and a rather silky, thick texture. Finishes firm, with substantial dusty tannins."

Product Description:

"“Trilogie” is produced from small holdings of very old plantings in three different Morey-Saint-Denis lieux-dits: “Chenevery,” “Clos Solon,” and “Porroux,” with vines planted between 1936 and 1972. This impressive villages-level wine is denser and more concentrated than the “Tres Girard” above, showing a more classically savory Morey character and a highly attractive sappiness of fruit, as well as a expressive nose. Although it is relatively generous and open-knit, it should reward a few years of cellaring as well." - Importer
