For those who know where Burgundy is headed, Domaine du Couvent is quickly becoming a name to watch. Their Chambolle-Musigny and the highly limited Les Quarante Ouvrées deliver serious terroir expression and are already drawing comparisons to some of the most elite names in the village.
2016 – A Collector’s Dream | Structured, mineral-driven, and just beginning to reveal its depth. Classic, age-worthy Chambolle in the style of 2010.
2018 – Generous & Seductive | Dark, ripe, and beautifully textured, with the richness of 2009 but a balance reminiscent of 2010. Silky, complex, and built to impress.
2022 – The Breakout Vintage | Precision meets vibrancy in this thrilling new release. Fresh, floral, and layered with energy, this is one of the most exciting young Chambolle releases in years.
Les Quarante Ouvrées refers to a traditional Burgundian measure of land—an ouvrée is roughly 0.04 hectares (about 430 square feet), representing the amount of vineyard a single worker could cultivate by hand in a day. With 40 ouvrées (around 1.6 hectares), this site is a true gem in Chambolle-Musigny, producing wines of finesse and terroir transparency.
