"The 2015 Riddle Vineyard Pinot Noir has a medium ruby-purple color and complelling nose of roses, kirsch, cranberry sauce and eucalyptus with touches of cloves and fallen leaves. The medium to full-bodied palate is packed with taut red berry and menthol-laced flavors, structured with ripe, firm, finely knit tannins and finishing in thought-provoking layers. Drink now through 2024."

"Aromas of blueberry and lemon tree leaf follow through to a medium body, juicy fruit and fresh and silky finish. A little oily textured. Drink or hold."

Product Description:

This compelling wine showcases the signature Sojourn smooth texture, balanced by amply structure for length and longevity. Its foundation is the distinctive Mt. Eden clone, which was taken as original bud wood from a prominent vineyard planted along California's Central Coast. It provides intriguing bramble berry fruit flavors and silky tannins. Clones 115 and Pommard add layers of red fruit and earth to build complexity and balance. Rusty Gaffney (PinotFile) writes that the wine has, "admirable elegance, with opulent fruit." The 2015 vintage started with a bang — an unusually warm winter and dry spring promoted early bud break, with severe drought conditions continuing throughout the entire growing season. Vines responded by producing loose clusters and smaller berries with an abundance of flavor. It was one of the earliest harvests on record with lower than average yields. The resulting wines display tremendous finesse, depth and aromatic intensity. Each of the four clones of Riddle Vineyard were picked and vinified separately. Mt. Eden clone provides the backbone of this blend, with layers of rich, dark fruit. Pommard, 115 and 828 add bright fruit, finesse and structure. The resulting blend is a captivating and inviting mix of classic new world Pinot noir flavors and textures.
