About

93

"The fifth vintage from this cool site near Annapolis, the wine is spicy, creamy and on the fuller-bodied end of the spectrum, aromatically rich in baked strawberry and raspberry. Resolved tannins and integrated oak make for a seamless experience, the wine clean, composed and crisp on the finish."

91 Robert Parker - Robert Parker's Wine Advocate

"The deep ruby/plum-colored 2013 Pinot Noir Ridgetop Vineyard exhibits notes of forest floor, black cherries and wild berries. Fashioned from clones 115, 667 and 777, it is elegant, pure, medium-bodied and concentrated, but never heavy or overbearing. Drink now-2021."

90 Wine Spectator

"Pure and vibrant, with snappy wild berry, plum and blackberry flavors, accented by dusty, cedary oak and a dash of black licorice. Drink now through 2020. 425 cases made. — JL"

Product Description:

"2013 was our fifth vintage sourcing fruit from the Ridgetop Vineyard, owned and managed by Thomas Rivers Brown and Fred Schrader. Ulises Valdez cares for the vineyard with precise attention to detail demanded by this extreme site. Ridgetop is located in the remote coastal mountains along the northern Sonoma Coast near Annapolis. Surrounded by redwoods at approximately 1100 feet above the Pacific, the salty sea air and ocean breezes are ever present, with thick fog receding each day to present ideal ripening conditions for Pinot noir. The vines produce minuscule yields each vintage, with concentrated flavors, provocative aromatics, and silky texture as they struggle to grow in Goldridge loam soils and a collection of old silt, sandstone, and remnants of ancient seabed. This wine shows exotic red and orange fruit aromas overlaying a bold strength, concentrated flavors, and lush mouthfeel." - Winery
