"Pale, translucent garnet. Scents of forest floor, red cherries, tobacco leaf, and a smoky tone evocative of wet firewood form the nose of this elegant wine. The palate offers more earth than fruit, with a delicate, lightweight texture and firm acidity. A kiss of green tannins bristle in the finish, likely from the inclusion of 50% whole clusters. A nice wine, not unlike a cool vintage Bourgogne." July 2016

About the Vintage
"A moderate winter was followed by a seasonal bud break and bloom. Early summer brought a record-high 5 inches of rainfall in June, but happily the rest of the season was hot with normal precipitation. A gorgeous, dry September delivered ample sun which fully ripened the fruit, while cool nights preserved acidity. The Pinot Noir shows incredible weight and backbone of verve, while the Rieslings are simply electric."
