About

Rating:

90

"If you enjoy light and airy reds with the finesse that pinot can sometimes give, steal this wine. It has a cool transparency and gentle red fruit - think cranberry skin and rose petals. The earthy tannins and tart acidity don’t bring any tension, feeling just as mellow as the fruit. You could easily run through a case for late summer barbecues through to Thanksgiving."

Product Description:

Our Biggest Value Pinot Noir Deal of the Summer ... is now in stock!!

This 90 Point Pinot is going to flat-out fly. Buy it by the case and serve it all summer long!

Our wine team spent weeks looking for a few great bottles of Pinot Noir that we could retail in the $20 and under price point. As many of you know, this is not always an easy task. Especially when we are talking about Pinot Noir.

There was a short time earlier this year where a few members of our buying team spent weeks working with some of our vendors, looking for a few new options that would flat out, blow away the competition in the $20 and under price point.

We didn't want to settle for anything but the very best ... so our search took some time. About 10 days into our search ... we found this one.

3 Reasons why this Pinot Noir should be bought by the case!

Reason #1 - The price, the price, the price. It's flat-out delicious and almost impossible to find Pinot Noir of this quality ... for this price point. We guarantee that after just one glass, you will be calling to try and order more. Issue is, we bought the end of the vintage (in fact, we are already working to try and get the next vintage!)

Reason #2 - It scored 90 Points by Wine and Spirits They remarked, " If you enjoy light and airy reds with the finesse that pinot can sometimes give, steal this wine. It has a cool transparency and gentle red fruit - think cranberry skin and rose petals. The earthy tannins and tart acidity don't bring any tension, feeling just as mellow as the fruit. You could easily run through a case for late summer barbecues through to Thanksgiving."

Reason #3 - We can't get any additional quantity of this vintage. Think about how many Pinot Noir bottles you see that have this kind of press ... and are available for this kind of a price. This will fly today. Grab it while you can!

Tasting Notes:
"Subtle charm with fragrant strawberry Pinot characters that are classic of the Yarra Valley. Parcels of fruit grown in both Red Volcanic and Grey Loam soils, 20% whole bunch ferment, and aging for just under a year in old French puncheons and barriques. Minimal sulfur." - Importer

Winery:
"RDV is the product of three families (two Bird brothers - Ian and David - and their winemaker mate Tod Dexter who makes world class Pinot Noir and Chardonnay). Their wines are the product of doing what they love: visiting wineries, eating, drinking and watching Le Tour de France (in person).

At the core of RDV is an exploration of Victorian terroirs. Simply put, it’s the boys in the van blending grapes from a few select locations around the state (Yarra Valley, King Valley and Heathcote). Delving deeper, it's a reply to all that heavy handed, over-oaked, over-alcoholed plonk that Australia got a bad name for overseas.

RDV wines have loads of acidity, moderate alcohol and just the right touch of oak (if at all). They're complements to good living, not the focus of it. These are wines made for enjoyment, to satisfy food of all sorts, and - most importantly - to be able to be easily consumed and reordered. Sure, there's plenty of wines that demand attention, thought, reflection, concentration. But that’s not what RDV is about: Tod, Ian and David want you to grab a bottle of RDV and enjoy it anywhere, anytime. (This is not an invitation to illicitly drink wine in public, though screwcaps do assist in that)." - Importer
