About

93

"This perfumed wine has just the right color and lively, crisp acidity. The full-bodied feel is very much the house style of this producer, giving richness from ripe red fruits as well as balanced acidity to finish. The wine is generous and ready to drink."

93 Wine Spectator

"Rich accents of smoke and pastry lead to white raspberry and apricot fruit, ground ginger and Earl Grey tea notes in this firm, well-knit rosé Champagne. Long and creamy on the lightly spiced finish. Drink now through 2029. 4,000 cases made, 1,200 cases imported."

I like the 2009 vintage for rosé. Here, it delivers a playfully fruit-fueled core of bold cherries and watermelon with some chalky moments on the palate. This has a very inviting attitude.

Blending 60% Pinot Noir and 40% Chardonnay with 15% Pinot Noir red wine from the Montagne de Reims, Pol Roger's 2009 Vintage Brut Rosé displays an intense salmon/onion color and a rich, vinous bouquet of red berries and cherries that come along as ripe and dried fruit flavors. Full-bodied, round and dry, with very fine tannins giving a firm, refreshing and grippy structure framing body and the intense fruit, this is an elegant, fresh and finessed rosé with a delicate Pinot character on the finish. Aged for seven years on the second lees, the 2009 reveals good length and structure and is a serious gastronomic rosé.

Product Description:

Pol Roger Rosé Vintage 2009 is immediately eye-catching with its salmon-pink hue and glittering stream of fine bubbles. The nose is just as enticing with great aromatic complexity. It combines aromas of fresh red fruits, sweet buttery brioche, and a spicy detailed finish. On the palate, the wine exudes great freshness and elegance; the overarching impression is one of remarkable delicacy. Notes of exotic fruits combine harmoniously with floral undertones; on the finish, hints of dried fruit emerge, leading to an outstandingly fresh and powerful finish. The Brut Rosé Vintage 2009 is the ideal choice to accompany fish such as grilled salmon or even sushi. It also marries perfectly with fruit tarts and other fruit desserts; try pairing with a forced rhubarb fool, the sharpness of the fruit complementing the elegant structure of the wine. - Champagne House
