A passion for winemaking runs deep in the Clock family. Originally from Holland, Jean Clock settled in Bordeaux in 1679 and chose to cultivate a vineyard in the region. He was subsequently granted French citizenship in 1686 by King Louis XIV, who had appreciated the quality of his wines.
Among his descendants, Jean-Baptiste-Alexandre was ennobled in July 1757 by the position of "Advisor Grand Secretary to the King". Many generations of winegrowers had succeeded one another when Léon de Clock, through his marriage to Camille de Vulliod in 1949, took over the winemaking operations of the Estate. "Château Font-Mars", located in the territory of Mèze, had been operated until then by Camille's ancestors since 1864 (Privat, Allié, Guibert, de Vulliod).
Their youngest son, Jean-Baptiste de Clock, is currently the owner, continuing the tradition of both families. We owe them the transmission of the authenticity of the FONT-MARS vineyard and its prehistoric relics to our time.
Winemaker Notes
Pale straw yellow. Bright and lemony fresh on the nose. On the palate zippy flavors of citrus, peach, fresh herbs, and oyster shell with a touch of richness. Fresh and zingy with a sea salt-laced finish.
