"Sculpted tannins and juicy acidity frame this medium- to full-bodied red, with a tightly meshed core of sappy black cherry, fig cake, tarry smoke and melted licorice flavors that linger on the grippy finish. Dense and well-knit, this should go the distance. Drink now through 2026. 1,250 cases made. -AN"

"Healthy full red-ruby. Red and black fruit aromas are lifted by violet and fresh herbs. Fine-grained and floral in the mouth, with plush cherry and plum flavors given definition and lift by vibrant acidity. This easygoing, smooth, uncomplicated wine offers excellent balance and plenty of sex appeal."

"Aromas of mature dark-skinned berry, scorched earth and a whiff of exotic spice unfold in the glass. The round, chewy palate doles out juicy blackberry, fleshy black cherry, cinnamon and a hint of cocoa while velvety tannins provide a smooth framework. -KO"
"'Schietto' is a line of single-varietal wines. The word means 'sincere, straightforward' and Francesco Spadafora aims at bringing through the best possible representation of each varietal. Nero d'Avola 'Schietto' is a reserve bottling made with 100% certified organic grapes. Vinified in cement vats, only 50% of the wine sees large oak barrels for 12 months, the rest ages in stainless steel. Rich, ruby red in color. The bouquet opens with wild berries, with enveloping and penetrating aromatic persistence. The mouthfeel is thick and opulent. A bold wine that is best served with meat dishes, roasts and non-spicy cheese." - Importer
