Monica Larner - Robert Parker's Wine Advocate
Oddero's classic 2016 Barolo delivers everything you seek in this beautiful vintage. The wine is linear and tight, precise and focused, showing vivid fruit, wild berry, rose hip, aniseed and grilled herb. These aromas are delivered with carefully intensity, in which you can make out each characteristic and no one element is masked or covered. Fruit is drawn from three vineyard sites: Bricco Chiesa and Capalot both in La Morra, and Fiasco in Castiglione Falletto. The balance is spot on, and so is the wine's value price.

While the fruit is dried and ripe, it’s also very focussed and floral. Dried cherries, dried rose petals and orange zest spring into action. The tannins aren’t the most powerful, but they are beautifully integrated with nothing sticking out, one fine strand building over the next. Medium-to full-bodied and vertical and medium-chewy on the finish. Drink from 2023

The 2016 Barolo is a gorgeous entry-level offering in this range that also shows just how compelling the vintage is. Deep, plush and exquisitely layered, the 2016 has so much to offer. Hints of spice, orange peel, rose petal and tar add pretty aromatic top notes throughout. This is such an alluring and irresistible wine

Brilliant garnet-red color, with warmer tinges developing over time. Unmistakeable bouquet, very pleasant, intense yet ethereal, very persistent, at times spiced, with aromas of truffles, liquorice and dried flowers. Dry taste, with important, full tannins
