"Brovia's 2009 Barolo Villero has a serious core of fruit, especially relative to the other wines in the range. Crushed flowers, mint, anise and tobacco add complexity to the fruit as the wine opens up in the glass. Exotic spiced notes typical of this site develop as the wine continues to blossom with air. The 2009 needs to be cellared for a few years, but it, too, looks like more of a near and medium-term drinker. Clean saline notes add a measure of freshness on the finish."
