Domaine Montrose is an historic, family-owned wine estate in Valros, a small village in the Hérault department of Southern France. Rosé is a particular specialty here, though the broad portfolio also includes red and white wines. All estate bottlings are labelled as IGP Côtes de Thongue.
Domaine Montrose is thought to have been the site of a villa during the Roman period. The Valros Tower, next to the vineyard was a necropolis in the Carolingian period (ninth century) and then a military stronghold in the middle ages.
The Coste family have lived and made wine at the property since around 1550 (nine generations). In 1701 their ancestor Joseph Alazard was granted the coat of arms featuring three lizards which appears on all wine labels.
The Solis Lumen Our orange wine exudes the citrus, sun and spices of the Southern French countryside. Its rich aromas and tannins will perfectly complement your aperitifs with friends, Asian cuisine and cheese platters.
