Chateau Lamartine is a great estate being in the family for over 100 years. Cahors is southwest of Bordeaux and predominately from the Malbec grape. A few drops of Merlot are added to bring fruit and soften the finish. Notes of juice dark fruit, plums, licorice and black cherry with hints of smoke and earth. Warm spicy notes and bright acidity adds balance to the long finish. Soft silky tannins allow this to be enjoyed now and over the next few years. This is the original Malbec. Delicious!
