Located in the heart of Provence in Courthézon between Châteauneuf-du-Pape and Orange, Château du Mourre du Tendre is a family estate bringing together 7 generations of passionate winemakers.
Since 2013, Paul, son of Florence and grandson of Jacques, has taken up the torch and now continues the family adventure with the same commitment to the pursuit of excellence learned at his grandfather's side.
The cellar itself is constantly evolving and modernizing. Chateau du Mourre du Tendre farms 10 hectares of old-vine Grenache, Carignan and Cinsault in Côtes-du-Rhône on gravelly clay soils. While most estates opt for an easy-going style at the entry level, Paul Verité, the young vigneron at Mourre du Tendre treats, this wine the same way that he does his Châteauneuf-du-Pape: whole cluster and native yeast fermentations that begin semi-carbonically and extensive aging (30 months) in tank before release.
