"Limpid orange. Nervy and sharply focused on the nose, displaying fresh red berry, citrus fruit and floral aromas and a chalky mineral overtone. Vibrant blood orange and strawberry flavors are well-concentrated yet lively. A suave candied lavender nuance appears as the wine opens up and carries through the very long, seamless finish, which shows impressive clarity and tension."
Product Description:
"Roucas Toumba or "the fallen rock" in old Provençal, taken from the ancient name for this area, is a small family-run vineyard in the town of Vacqueyras. The Bouletin family is one of the oldest in the village, with records containing this name dating back to 1580.
In the beginning, I used to take my harvested grapes to the cooperative cellar in the village. Then in 2006, I decided to build my own cellar and produce wine using my grapes, some of which come from old vines.
I have always been interested in and respected nature and wildlife, so it seemed only natural to run my vineyard organically, which is not, however, the most profitable method.
Yes, this is AOC Vacqueyras! Saignée Grenache, Syrah in demi-muid ; saignée Mourvèdre ; Grenache and whites direct press. Light orange-pink. Ripe orange and red currant aromas, with a sexy floral overtone and a hint of smoky minerals. Juicy and expansive, offering subtle sweet red berry and pit fruit flavors and a refreshing bitter blood orange flourish. Rich yet lively, with strong closing thrust and resonating mineral and honeysuckle notes." - Winery
