About

Textbook Tavel, this is a meaty, generously flavored rosé with lots of stony mineral flavor to support the red fruit. Based on grenache from 40-year-old vines and blended with a host of local varieties, the wine seems to grow in size and complexity with air, herbal notes and grapefruit acidity adding lift and freshness. It’s hearty enough to pair with seafood sausages; delicate enough to drink on its own.

This blend of 50% Grenache, 30% Syrah and 20% Cinsault shows the same attention to quality as the Domaine's other bottlings. Ripe red berries, dried spices and crushed stone all mingle easily on the bright nose and round palate, finishing long and intense. Drink now.

91 Antonio Galloni - Vinous

Vivid orange-pink. Fresh and focused on the nose, displaying mineral-tinged red berry and orange pith scents and a deeper suggestion of cherry pit. Taut and chewy on the palate, offering refreshingly bitter red currant and blood orange flavors underscored by a vein of juicy acidity. Closes supple, focused and quite long, leaving behind sappy red berry and tangerine notes.

Product Description:

On the nose, steady rose, brilliant and limpid, very complex with flowers, red and white fruits aromas. On the palate, rounded, full bodied with a long lasting aniseed and fruity finish. Domaine de la Mordoree focuses on creating wines that represent the classic characteristics of Rhone varietals and where they come from. This excellent Tavel is dry with notes of tart cherries and raspberries backed with an underlying minerality from the natural soils of Southern Rhone. Going into November, there is one meal that is on many of our minds. Thanksgiving! Rose is one wine that will literally pair with just about everything on the table. Food and Wine Magazine said it perfectly, “Whether your favorite part of the Thanksgiving meal is the turkey or the sweet potatoes, a good dry rosé will pair well with everything on the table.”
