"The 2014 Treintamil Maravedíes is Garnacha with some 10% of a local grape identified as Morate (see the wine Darío for background information on the grape) from six different plots from the village of San Martín de Valdeiglesias. The full clusters fermented in large oak vats with indigenous yeasts & the wine matured in a combination of vats & barrels for around eight months. 2014 is an expressive, fruit-driven vintage for the reds in this zone of Gredos, which is not as cold as the Alberche Valley. The nose shows bright berries, quite floral, aromatic & expensive with some aromas that made me think of carbonic maceration. This wine never saw any oak, & is focused & clean. The palate also shows nicely defined, with fine tannins & pure flavors, very clean. Fresh & easy to drink. 22,000 bottles produced."
