Very seductive, with a note of Turkish coffee out front, quickly melding into a delicious mix of black currant, plum and boysenberry pate de fruit flavors. Lots of black tea, incense and warm fruitcake details swirl throughout, while well-buried minerality keeps the finish lengthy and firmly grounded. This just gets bigger and bigger with aeration. Best from 2020 through 2040"

"The first vintage since 2011 where they’ve had large enough yields to make the cuvée, the 2015 Châteauneuf Cuvee Les Gallimardes is a blockbuster blend of 90% Grenache and 10% Syrah, with the Grenache aged all in tank and the Syrah in new barrels. Its vibrant ruby/purple color is followed by sensational notes of black raspberries, crushed flowers, framboise, vanilla bean and licorice, and this beauty hits the palate with tons of richness, sweet tannin and a downright sexy texture that keeps you coming back to the glass. As always though, it stays balanced and light, with no heaviness."
"When the domaine was created, Les Gallimardes, already existed. This area found to the south of the appellation has always been part of our family. Here we grow 100 year old Grenache, Syrah and several white varieties. Classic Châteauneuf-du-Pape terrain, it’s made up of big round pebbles on the surface that radiate gentle heat in the evening helping to concentrate the grapes. This cuvée is in our own image evoking a modern, vibrant and concentrated style: it promises rich powerful flavours. The red Gallimardes combines refined elegance, power and roundness at the same time" - Winery
