"One of the best "tradition" wines I tasted during this extensive blind tasting was Domaine La Consonnière's 2015 Chateauneuf du Pape. A blend of 85% Grenache and 15% Mourvèdre raised partially in concrete and partly in demi-muids, it strikes a fine balance between being rich, ripe and creamy and detailed and elegant. Red cherries and berries are joined by gentle spice notes on the long, silky finish. It should drink well for 15 years."

"From the districts of Saintes Vierges, Pignan and Fond du Loup, on 100 year old parcels of Grenache.

Impressed with elegance and delicacy, this wine has a finesse that is directly resulted from the various sand terroir.

Elegant with shades of carmine red, finesse of the terroirs of sand and safre expressing the nose often dominated by aromas of licorice and cocoa bean, compote of strawberries and raspberries.

The palate is elegant, smooth, unctuous, a mixture of zan and liquorice aromas, sweet spices, oregano and white pepper." - Winery
