Chile should produce more wines like this blend, simply delicious in its freshness, so easy drink, so generous in its red fruit and herbal notes. It grows in stony soils at 1,000 feet, a relatively high vineyard for Apalta, its freshness further emphasized by a cool vintage. Ideal to pour poolside this summer, you can serve it as you would a white wine with salmon, tuna or other fatty fish.

Vivid ruby-red. Lively, spice-accented red berry and floral pastille scents, along with hints of allspice and white pepper. Silky and graceful on the palate, offering vibrant raspberry and bitter cherry flavors and an exotic orange zest flourish. A suave and accessible blend with excellent finishing clarity and lift and just a hint of fine-grained tannins. This would be a fun wine to put up against some pretty serious southern Rhônes.
