Campbell Mattinson - The Wine Front:

"Sift through the marketing and the wine itself is pretty good. Legitimate grenache/shiraz/mataro style. Blackberry, chocolate, dried spices. Sweet, warm and upfront but a firm tether of tannin and a composed finish. They’re sure not shy of high alcohols at Rocland Estate but this wine feels pretty much in balance."

"Part of the "A Variety of Indulgence" range and featuring the words Cherry Chocolate in big letters on the back label." Reviewed 10/2013

Chateauneuf du Pape quality ... for the price tag of a Cotes du Rhone
We are big time Cotes du Rhone fans here. Chateauneuf du Pape as well. What about finding a Chateauneuf du Pape caliber wine ... in a Cotes du Rhone package. That's exactly what this is. Super balanced and smooth, this is the kind of wine we sell on the floor all day long. It's absolutely perfect for all kinds of gatherings, and for mid-week drinking, this wine will deliver premium quality ... for a price tag a fraction of what you might expect.

What is a GSM blend anyway?
Grenache, Syrah, and Mourvedre. As the Wine Enthusiast notes "Grenache tends to be the most dominant grape used in the Rhône blends and provides soft, spiced berry flavors and a round mouthfeel. Syrah brings out a wild side to the blend with aromas of smoked meat, black pepper and olive tapenade and is bolstered by a muscular structure. Mourvèdre adds earth tones and gamy flavors with high amounts of color pigment and tannin. "

"Earthy Aromas of savory oak, dark cherry chocolate and stewed rhubarb with spice and cinnamon over a robust and generous body, leaving a persistent lingering silky finish." - Winery Tasting Notes
