Our driving force is clean and sustainable agriculture, and more precisely, agro-ecology. We respect nature, the earth and people. We work every day to protect and develop biodiversity and soil fertility, in order to produce unique wines, with character and terroir. Expressing the originality of a place, thanks to artisanal and sincere viticulture, we seek the elegance and purity of the fruit of this fabulous grape variety that is Gamay, planted on granite soils. In 2005, Julien settled down by acquiring an old farm, “La Ferme des Noisetiers”, spread over 10 hectares of meadows and woods, overlooking the Beaujolais wines at an altitude of 750 m, in the magnificent little village of Avenas.
In 2008, a dream came true: becoming a farmer by creating his own wine estate from scratch.
In the first year, the estate cultivated 2.2 ha of vines, which has now reached 9 ha across three protected designations of origin: Morgon, Fleurie and Régnié… all organically farmed, of course!
For optimal wine production, we built a vat room entirely clad in wood and dug a cellar to house the barrels.VINIFICATION
We seek the purity of the fruit, via cold carbonic vinification without seeking extraction, alcoholic fermentation in indigenous yeasts, no addition of SO2 is made during vinification and aging. Manual devatting, traditional pressing with vertical press. Unfiltered bottling, very lightly sulphurized.
AGING
This wine is housed in 3,000-litre ovoid vats and horizontal vats, to promote aging on lees, capture the maximum fruit and avoid any premature oxidation. Bottled unfiltered and very lightly sulphated (<10mg/L of free SO2, <10mg/L of total SO2).
CHARACTER
The “Wild Soul” vintage is a light red wine for all occasions, with great freshness and purity thanks to this fabulous and aromatic Gamay grape variety, planted on granite soils.
