"There’s a wildflower and meadow-grass perfume to this wine, compellingly fresh, even as the fruit runs deep into black layers of tannins. Red notes emerge out of the darker tones, yielding scents of wild strawberries and pomegranate seeds. The scent of the wine only gets more resinous and rich for several days after the bottle is open, suggesting a long life ahead."

"This is a big, rich wine, full of tannins as well as intense fruit. Concentration and dense texture are just part of the fruitiness and structure that give this wine its potential. Still developing, the wine is likely to show at its best from 2019."

"Brilliant ruby. Spice-tinged red fruit and floral scents are complemented by hints of lavender and smoky minerals. Sweet and energetic on the palate, offering nicely concentrated raspberry and cherry flavors, along with floral pastille and white pepper accents that build on the back half. Vibrant and focused in style, delivering solid finishing punch, harmonious tannins and strong, red-berry-driven persistence."

"The 2016 Moulin-a-Vent Vieilles Vignes, aged for seven months after full carbonic maceration, has a lovely fresh strawberry and cranberry-scented bouquet that has more intensity than the Juliénas this year. The palate is clean and fresh with crisp acidity, well structured with a gentle grip on the finish. This is another well made Beaujolais from Domaine des Chers and winemaker Arnaud Briday."
"The 2016 vintage shows a richness, a remarkable power and a black fruit mixed with spices, truffle and undergrowth.
Garnet colored, our Moulin à Vent vieilles vignes is complex red wine. Located in the town of Chenas in the old town, the flagship of the wines is remarkable for its richness, structure and subtlety. A racy wine combining finesse and elegance is accompanied by notes of black fruits, pepper, truffle. The Moulin à Vent is a wine of guard par excellence. The Moulin-à-vent remains intense and tannic. It is said of it, that thanks to its robustness, that with the age, it would tend to "pinot", thus getting closer to its Burgundy neighbors by the evocation of cherry flavors proper to this grape variety." - Winery
