"This wine comes from a small parcel of 70-year-old vines within the Deschamps vineyard. It has great concentration and a dense structure. That contrasts with the complex black fruit and ripe berry flavors. Wood aging has smoothed the fruity edges. Drink this wine from late 2017." February 2017

"The 2015 Chenas Les Deschamps, which is aged in neutral oak barrels, has a crisp redcurrant and blueberry-scented bouquet, timid at first but opening nicely in the glass. The palate is medium-bodied with supple, ripe tannin, well judged acidity and a harmonious, quite caressing finish that delivers fine precision. This is a well crafted Chenas from Yohan Lardy." August 2016

Product Description:

"At only 27 years old Yohan Lardy has truly come to his own by returning to his Beaujolais after completing a BTS Viti-Oeno and spending a number of months working in Chile for an estate harvesting and winemaking. Without hesitation he purchased 2 ha and is now working organically a total of 6.5 hectares in Beaujolais, primarily in Moulin-a-Vent with small plots in Fleurie, Chenas and Beaujolais-Villages.

His vineyards are striking - with lots of diversity, excellent south facing exposure and picturesque backgrounds. The vines are not trellised and quite old at 40-111 years old. His vines are carefully maintained and are surrounded by the beauty of poppy flowers. All work is manual including harvest with an average yield of 45hl/ha. As expected from his vineyard practices he allows for native yeast fermentation and adds no sulfites." - Importer
