"Opaque ruby. A vibrant, expressive nose displays potent red and dark berry and floral pastille scents and a smoky mineral flourish. Taut, juicy and focused, offering ripe black raspberry and bitter cherry flavors plus a hint of spicecake. The mineral and floral qualities come back strong on an impressively long, gently tannic finish, which leaves behind a subtle licorice note. Drink 2017-2022."
"This relatively new domaine (launched in 2011) has quickly become a reliable source for highly perfumed, graceful Beaujolais that manage to be appealing for their lively expression of fruit as well as their power. Yohan Lardy, a Fleurie native whose father, Lucien, has been making top-notch Beaujolais for years, is barely 30 years old and worked in Oregon and Chile after finishing viticultural school at Mâcon-Davayé. He makes his wines by the traditional Beaujolais method, using whole clusters macerated in concrete tanks, with native yeasts, no added sulfur and aging in old wooden barrels." -Josh Raynolds, Vinous
