Made in a richer style, the 2013 Châteauneuf du Pape Boisrenard Blanc is a selection of mostly old-vine (80+-year-old) Clairette and Roussanne that’s aged eight months in 30% new French oak barrels. Normally one of the top whites in a vintage, it doesn’t disappoint in 2013, offering thrilling buttered citrus, white flowers, brioche and hints of minerality in its medium+-bodied, rich, yet laser focused personality. The style here continues to shift toward more and more freshness. This classy effort will age beautifully.
