"The citrus-golden 2014 Savennières Le Bel Ouvrage is from up to 50-year-old vines on deep and stony, not very fertile soils. Fermented in tank and aged for 12 months in used French oak barrels, and another six months in tanks, this is a clear, ripe, intense and fruity Chenin; it has some yeasty flavors in the background. Full-bodied, rich and highly elegant, this is a dense, concentrated, perfectly balanced, refreshing mineral Chenin with a firm and persistent structure; it has a long, complex and powerful finish. The aging potential is enormous, but the wine is also pretty accessible today."
