Stephan Reinhardt - Robert Parker's Wine Advocate
"The 2013 Pouilly-sur-Loire La Centenaire is a real serious 100% Chasselas from low-yielding old vines (45 hectoliters per hectare) in the clay-siliceous soils of Pouilly-sur-Loire. Handpicked from the only Chasselas parcel of the family, which is 0.6 ha and 100 years old, and after six months of élevage, this excellent gastronomic wine offers a very subtle bouquet with yeasty aromas intertwined with a highly delicate amalgam of ripe pears, dried apples, hazelnut (blossoms), white peach and apricots. Bottled in April 2014, after the whole time on its lees, this is a rather light-bodied (11.8%), slightly creamy textured and extremely well-balanced wine with an animating, almost piquant and mineral acidity and a quite intense taste and finish. A delicious wine that has you drinking rather than drunk and matches many kinds of lighter dishes, i.e. shellfish, fish, cheese and cold meats. I took it as as an aperitif and it was as quickly finished as normally are Champagnes."
