Coles Valley Vineyard along the Umpqua River is a spectacular site for growing Chardonnay clones 69, 76, 95, and Wente. The grapes for the Chardonnay were hand picked, lightly pressed, and fermented separately by block and clone in neutral oak barrels. Malolactic fermentation was completed, and the wine was aged sur lie in barrel for eight months. The separate lots were racked and blended with the intent of expressing the unique character of the vineyard before being filtered and bottled. Opens with golden aromas of meyer lemon and oatstraw, with flavors of white peach and sweet cream wrapped around a bright core of acidity. The finish is long and fresh, with elegant, mother of pearl minerality. ~ Winery
