"The 2017 Chablis Vieilles Vignes comes from vines planted in 1953. It has a more introspective nose than Picq’s other 2017s from tank, demanding more coaxing from the glass, eventually revealing yellow flowers, struck flint and light undergrowth aromas that are very well defined. The palate is well defined with crisp acidity, good attack on the front palate and then the richness and the slightly honeyed texture washes over the back palate with a tang of lemongrass on the aftertaste. Superb."

Picq's 2017 Chablis Vieilles Vignes is very promising, unfurling in the glass with notes of lime zest, crisp green orchard fruit, white flowers and salty oystershell. On the palate, it's medium to full-bodied, concentrated and tensile, with an elegantly glossy attack and a reserved, structured core, concluding with a mouthwatering finish. This will be well worth seeking out in bottle.

"The 2017 Chablis Vieilles Vignes is also showing well from bottle, unfurling in the glass with scents of lemon oil, mandarin, green apple and oyster shell. On the palate, the wine is medium to full-bodied, delicately glossy and incisive, with more tension at the core than the Picq's regular Chablis and a more mouthwateringly saline finish too."
