"The 2016 Chablis Vaillons 1er Cru has one of the superior bouquets this vintage since it avoids any blowsiness or tropical tones: taut limestone and flint aromas, nicely focused. The palate is fresh and vibrant with crisp acidity and, perhaps, here the warmth of the growing season shows its hand, more thanks to the undercurrent of pineapple and peach, a hint of nectarine towards the finish. This is redeemed by a fine bead of acidity and a dash of spice towards the end. Just a thoroughly enjoyable Les Vaillons to drink over the next 6 to 8 years. Tasted blind at the BIVB Chablis tasting."
