Product Description:

"The Lamy-Pillot Chassagne Montrachet Pot Bois is one of the most underrated wines in all of Chassagne Montrachet as it is only classified as Village, but drinks like a premier cru. However, the location of the property cannot be located in a better spot. It is on the bottom part of Pot Bois flanked on its south by 1er crus Grand Montagne and Virondot. Also Les Combards 1er cru is literally 5 yards east from their site and arguably, the best 1er cru in Chassagne, Caillerets, is no more than 25 yards from Pot Bois.

2015 is considered one of the best vintages in Burgundy, but with yields that are very low. The Lamy-Pillot Pot Bois is down 40% in 2015 with only 30 cases being imported to the USA. Moreover, in 2016 there will be no Pot Bois as the entire crop was lost to the devastating weather. Therefore, making this wine extremely rare and with great demand. The wine aged in only 10% new oak and coming from 50 year old vines has a beautiful balance and concentration of minerality, acidity, and fruit. It starts with an explosive taste of mandarin and a round lush feel. The wine also exhibits tones of bitter honey to complement the balanced fruit. The seductive taste remains in your mouth for a long lengthy finish. A must seek." -Importer
