About

Product Description:

"La Romanée is a small lieu dit located in the southern part of the village, next to Les Grandes Ruchottes and Grand Montagne in the higher part of the vineyards on a limestone and clayish soil with a southwest exposure, meaning plenty of sun that allows wonderful ripening to go along with the cool nights that provide that great balance of ripeness and acidity.

This Chassagne Montrachet 1er Cru La Romanée comes from 60 yr old vines that are aged in 50% new oak for 18 months plus six months in tank and 3 months in bottle before release. This is a long aging wine that compares to some Grand Crus in its quality. This medium body wine has a nice pale gold color with a nose rich with aromas of . fruity notes of peach, almond and a little honeysuckle.. It has a great balance and never heavy with an impressively long lasting mouth with great minerality. This wine is very allocated as only 2 barrels are made and 10 cases imported to the USA." -Importer
