"Soft reduction and gentle wood notes currently suppress the underlying fruit but there is both good freshness and richness to the caressing and seductively textured medium-bodied flavors that coat the palate with sap. This persistent and well-balanced effort is not particularly complex at present but a few years of bottle age should help in that regard and my range assumes that more will develop."

"The 2014 Meursault 1er Cru Santenots has a fragrant bouquet that retains those grilled walnut scents that I picked up on from barrel, though now they are augmented with hints of smoke and even baking powder. The palate is fresh and vibrant on the entry with crisp acidity, touches of crème fraiche, dried pineapple and citrus lemon, moderate weight on the finish but, it lingers nicely in the mouth. Enjoy this over the next 10-15 years."
